Privacy policy

Ponto turns the links you save into a personal map. This page explains, in plain language, what Ponto stores, who processes it and how to delete it.

Last updated 17 October 2026

What Ponto stores

  • Your email address, so you can sign in with an emailed code (or a password, if one was set up for you).
  • The links you save, and what Ponto works out from them: the public title, caption or page text it read, the places it found, the map matches you confirmed or corrected, your statuses and collections.
  • Your location only while the app is open and only if you allow it, to show places near you and, if you turn on travel suggestions, to point out saved places when you arrive in a new city. Exact positions are not stored; for travel suggestions the device keeps only a coarse city.
  • Essential diagnostics: request IDs, error codes, timings and access audits that keep Ponto reliable and secure.
  • Optional product analytics about how features are used. It is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in the menu under "Optional product analytics".
  • Anything you choose to send us by email, such as a problem report.

How it is used

Only to run Ponto for you: turning saved links into places on your map, keeping your account working, and fixing problems. Ponto has no ads, does not sell your data, and does not use your content to train AI models.

Who processes it for us

  • Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and server functions.
  • OpenRouter passes the public text of a saved link to an AI model provider to find the places it mentions. We ask OpenRouter to route only to providers that do not keep or train on that data.
  • Google Places receives the place names and areas Ponto searches for, to find map matches. The map itself is drawn by Apple or Google map services.
  • For some public social videos and photos, Ponto’s own media service reads on-screen text or speech to find places.
  • An email delivery service sends your sign-in codes.
  • Apple distributes the beta through TestFlight under its own privacy policy.

Sharing

Your saves are private to your account. We share data only with the services above, as needed to run Ponto, or when the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Ponto keeps your data while your account exists. You can delete any saved link in the app at any time.

To delete your whole account and its data, open Help in the app and choose Delete account, or email [email protected] from the address you sign in with.

Children

Ponto is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
